Geography of West Bengal

Intro: West Bengal is one of the eastern states of India, it is known as West Bengal because it was on the west side of undivided Bengal at the time of Partition. Hence it is called West Bengal. This state lies between 21.38’N and 27.10N’ and the longitudinal extend is 85.30E and 89.53E’. West Bengal is 623 Km wide from North to the south and 320km from west to east. The narrowest part is Chopra in North Dinajpur which is also known as chicken’s neck and it's just only 9km wide.
